10) Pedestrian Crossings

• Must be set away from the roundabout precinct to minimise “tunnel vision” effect of drivers
• Low speed limit of 20 – 30 mph
• Clearly defined with black and white illuminated poles either side of the road

• Surface raised as a ramp would be advisable in crossing area
• Well lighted from the top of the poles
• Red coloured surface leading up to crossing would be advisable
